I’ve just had word that there are plans to close the Brighton History Centre.
I am a US citizen but my great-grandfather came from Brighton in 1865. I have been trying to locate more information about his family for the past year and have visited the Brighton History Centre where I was met by helpful and courteous staff.
As my trip was brief, I plan to return and continue researching but if the centre is closed it will make for an even more difficult search.
I know I am only one of many researchers who depend on resources such as the Brighton History Centre. Please, do what must be done to keep this centre open for people like me. It provides a valuable and irreplaceable service and resource.
