Sussex Police have released five e-fits of suspects wanted in connection with 34 “deplorable” burglaries that targeted the elderly.

The offences in the Langley Green, West Green and Three Bridges areas of Crawley were reported between November 22 and December 15.

The burglaries took place in the early evening once it was dark and the properties looked empty with cash and jewellery being stolen.

The majority of the victims have been elderly, with some of the residents inside at the time of the burglary.

On several occasions violence was used against the victims causing minor injuries.

Detective Inspector Stuart Hale said: "I would appeal to anyone who has any information or believes they recognise who the e-fits maybe to contact Sussex Police.

“These are a deplorable series of offences where elderly residents of the community have been the victims. My team and I are dedicated to capturing the offenders and need the public's help to do so."

Sussex Police have offered a £500 reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of those concerned.
