Eastbourne Borough are due to sign former Wycombe Wanderers striker Richard Harris in time for their opening match at Bishop's Stortford.
Free agent Harris, who was on trial at Crawley in pre-season, goes straight into the side with last season's top scorer Scott Ramsay suspended.
Manager Garry Wilson said: "He is a big target man who will give us options up front, especially with Scott missing."
Borough have released Sean Ray just a month after signing the former Rye and Iden striker while David Adams has joined Crowborough Athletic.
Meanwhile, Bognor boss Jack Pearce hopes to complete a double signing of a forward and a defender before the trip to Margate.
Pearce is desperate to strengthen his squad as he will be without injured trio David Birmingham, David Wright and Richard Hudson for the first month of the season.
