It is said creative people use the right-hand side of their brain while logical number-crunchers exercise the left.

But students from the University of Brighton have shown both sides can be employed to get ahead in the world of business.

At a graduate awards ceremony James Whitbread, 23, was named the best international finance and capital market studies student and Sarah-Jane Nightingale, 22, was named the best marketing student at the university-affiliated Brighton Business School.

Figures whizz James received a certificate and a cheque for £250 from Kevin Dean, relationship manager at sponsors Lloyds TSB.

Creative Sarah-Jane collected a certificate and £100 from Paula Seager, director of sponsors The Priory Partnership, a Brighton-based PR firm.
