Having lived on the seafront for the past 25 years, I disagree totally with Tory councillor Brian Oxley's verdict on the King Alfred.

This is a huge and beautiful site, perfect for people to live and enjoy the beauty of the seafront.

To have the proposed really good and imaginative architecture on this site will greatly enhance this end of the city.

We are building 21st-Century homes, not the bland and non-descript buildings of the Tory years.

The good, new architecture will compliment the good old architecture. I say to Councillor Oxley and Jan Young - squat buildings for squat people. Labour says seafront living and life for more people to enjoy.
