After the cold, depressing winter months, one way to boost your mood and stimulate your energy is to attend the Good Health Show at Birmingham NEC next month.

I was invited to give lectures and demonstrations on holistic health and ayurvedic medicine at the Belfast show in November and am impressed with the integrated approach organisers have taken by inviting doctors and complementary practitioners, the British Heart Foundation, cancer awareness groups, companies manufacturing health and beauty products, fitness experts and various health magazines to take part.

There will be a range of complementary therapies on show in Birmingham from February 14-16. You will find experts in the field in the chill-out zone, where you will be able to have an aromatherapy massage, and there is a beauty zone where you'll be able to pamper yourself. At the fitness factory, you and the kids will be able to join the dynamic aerobic exercise zone where you can disperse your winter blues and get body and mind going to the rhythm of music. Kids can have a lot of fun in this zone and the play zone where they can have their faces painted. At the healthy-eating zone, you'll have the opportunity to pick up ideas from top TV chefs on how to make healthy food look and taste delicious.

Dr Mark Porter will be repeating a lecture he gave in Belfast about the issue of MMR and autism, at which he offered reassurance that there was no evidence of increase in the incidence of autism associated with the MMR vaccine. This was backed by the experience of half-a-million children who haved received MMR and have shown no signs of autism. It was interesting to learn that our immune system can cope with 10,000 antigens at a time. He showed evidence of how 650 deaths are saved every year by giving the MMR vaccine.

Dr Sarah Brewer will be guiding her audience through the herbal supplement maze and you will also hear from Liz Tucker, the GMTV stress doctor. The show will be officially opened by model and TV personality Nell McAndrew who will also be launching her new fitness video, Peak Energy.

My presentation at Belfast was about ayurvedic medicines, how to detox sensibly with ayurvedic panchakarma according to your body type, holistic health and which herbal remedies to take for common ailments in a safe and effective way.

Join me in the yoga zone at Birmingham to learn some basic practical yogic breathing techniques and my marma-point head and neck massage technique. Other yoga teachers will also be demonstrating simple yoga exercises.

You'll also get a chance to meet the people behind some of the major health food and herbal brands. Come and celebrate your health, beauty and fitness. See you there.
