Computer games firm Eidos dealt another blow to shareholders today after warning it would fail to make a profit in the current financial year.
The group said it expected a break-even figure or even a small loss because of its decision to delay the release of a key title until September.
In May, Eidos said an unexpected softness in the games market, particularly in the United States, would affect the results for the year to June 30.
In today's update, which sent shares down by another 6%, Eidos said conditions had not improved as the market prepared to enter its quieter summer period.
As a result, Eidos will delay the release of ShellShock: Nam '67 until September in order for the title to "deliver its true potential".
That means sales from the launch will feature in the financial year to June 30, 2005.
The Wimbledon-based group, which employs more than 270 people in the UK, also announced plans for a strategic review, including addressing the company's reliance on the performance of its key titles.
