A woman has paid tribute to her cousin who was killed in a late-night car crash.

Sharmila Yuguraj described Thiaganathian Yuguraj as a family man, devoted to his wife and daughter.

Mr Yuguraj, a garage owner, was killed when his BMW crashed into a roundabout on the A24 near Horsham.

The 45-year-old was driving his daughter Yathavi, three, and his wife Rajani to their Littlehampton home after visiting family and friends in London.

Mr Yuguraj, who came to Sussex from Sri Lanka in 1983, died when the car overturned at 1am on Sunday.

But his family, who were sitting on the back seats, only suffered minor injuries.

Ms Yuguraj, who was looking after his grieving wife at her semi-detached house in Falcon Gardens, was worried about how she would cope.

Ms Yuguraj, from Stoke-on-Trent, said: "We are all extremely upset. He had a three-year-old baby and a wife. She's not working and does not know how to handle this.

"Thiaganathian was tired at the time of the crash. He had had money stolen from him on Friday and it had upset him."

Praising her cousin's generosity, Sharmila spoke of how he supported his family and friends in London.

She said: "Thiaganathian was always helping other people.

"He always gave money to other people, that's why I'm worried about his baby and his wife. How they will manage, I do not know."

Mr Yuguraj was the owner of Snax 24 petrol filling station in Lyminster Road, Lyminster, near Arundel.

He is to be buried in London on Sunday.

The crash was one of several over last weekend in which four people were killed and another seven were injured.

A motorcyclist died just after noon on Sunday when he lost control and hit a tree on the A284 at Arundel.

He was named as Brian Finn, 36, of Admirals Walk, Littlehampton.

His family was yesterday too upset to comment.

Another motorcyclist killed in a crash with a van in London Road, Petworth, on Saturday morning was named as Martin Porter, from Guildford, Surrey.

A fourth man, believed to be 17, died when his car hit a telegraph pole in Edenbridge Road, Hartfield, near Crowborough on Monday.

A second 17-year-old in the car was seriously injured and police have appealed for witnesses.
