I regularly walk to collect my morning paper, tripping my careful way to the newsagent.
Last year (or was it the year before?), someone carefully painted white kisses on irregular pavement slabs.
This year there are fresh white painted dots. If they are renewed every year, this artistic effort must keep an expensive council surveyor employed for weeks.
This year there is added interest. As I walked along the road past ranks of plastic boxes and wheelie bins set out for rubbish collection there was an unusual tapping noise.
There, perched on the side of a wheelie bin, was a large seagull attempting to raise the lid of the bin with its beak.
Five or six attempts and the lid fell back into place. Amazing! Just give it time. Locks on wheelie bins?
