A drugs gang has set up business outside a pub, scaring regulars away.

Queen's Head landlord David Beales has filmed cocaine and crack deals outside the pub in Steine Street, Brighton, and noted the number plates of cars involved.

However, he hasn't had a single visit from the police in two months.

Mr Beales said: "For the last couple of months we have noticed a lot of dealing taking place in the street.

"We've seen people jacking up in broad daylight with kids walking past and three different cars dropping off cocaine and crack.

"The car pulls up outside and the people waiting around for it jump in. It pulls around the corner and they jump out again.

"I have witnessed bags of white powder changing hands and I have got footage on a webcam where you can see money and bags changing hands.

"When we first noticed it going on we contacted the police. Since then we have contacted the police with three car registration plate numbers.

"We have told them we have eyewitness reports if they want any details. We have asked them time and time again to come around."

Mr Beales, 22, said up to 30 deals a week took place outside the pub, usually between noon and 4pm on Mondays and Sundays.

Dealers carried out their business in full view of a dummy CCTV camera and were undeterred by staff watching them.

He said: "I am a responsible licensee, as a lot of others are, and we are doing our part to avoid disruption. The police have heard evidence of drug-dealing taking place and they are doing nothing about it."

Takings have gone down recently by up to £4,000 a month and Mr Beales believes the dealers are to blame.

Sussex Police spokeswoman Sue Heard said officers were aware of the situation.

She said: "Just because there are no uniforms walking around doesn't mean nothing is being done."
