Swindon manager Andy King slammed Albion's 1-0 play-off win as a fluke.

Albion will go into the second leg at Withdean on Thursday full of confidence after Richard Carpenter's 72nd-minute goal but King branded the victory lucky and believes his side did enough to win.

King said: "You need a bit of luck like a sending off, a penalty or a fluke to go your way.

"If they are honest, then they've had the fluke.

"It was an element of luck, a deflection.

"People said that defensively Albion did tremendously well and they looked solid but I would argue with that.

"If you are defensively solid then you don't allow attempts at goal.

"We hit the bar a few times and should have scored when Tommy Mooney missed with a header.

"I'm not totally disappointed because I feel we are the better team."

Albion go into the second leg having lost just twice at Withdean this season and on the back of six consecutive clean sheets.

King, however, insists the pressure will be on Albion.

He said: "They've come here and won 1-0 but why cannot we do the same or even better?

"Everyone is saying it is over but that's to our advantage now.

"Everyone thinks we are out of it and maybe the pressure is on them.

"They can't sit any deeper than they did, they have to come out sometime and if they do, then we have goals in our team and they will be very aware of that.

"I'm not disappointed because at least we tried to play in the right manner.

"Some of the football was good, some was a bit scrappy but the occasion and what is at stake makes it that way.

"We were the team trying to get the ball down, out wide and play in the right manner.

"That pleases me a lot but I would be a liar if I said I wanted to go to Withdean with them holding a 1-0 lead.

"The one thing Mark McGhee will be very aware with this team is that we have goals in us."

King added: "It's obviously not been the ideal result for us so now we've got to keep our belief."
