As my car was being serviced, I decided to take the no 7 bus home from George Street in Hove. I do so wish that I hadn't.

I am somewhat disabled, elderly and tall - three cardinal sins in these days, it would seem.

In order to sit down on one of the seats reserved for the disabled/elderly section of the community, I could do so only by adopting a slewed position and even then was in discomfort. Luckily, there was no one wanting to sit by me.

The lack of legroom is appalling. How short does one have to be to enjoy even a modicum of comfort?

I hobbled home after this tortuous trip in considerable pain - never again. I understand there are new, improved buses in service or being brought into service.

Has anyone of above diminutive stature been consulted as regards leg room and general comfort and has anyone of managerial status in the company ever ridden on a bus? I should be very surprised if they have.
