On Thursday night we watched the antics of a Blue Badge Cheat on TV, jumping up and down and shouting at a warden who was taking the number of her car.

At the same time someone, possibly her partner, was busy using a video camera to film the scene.

I understand that at this time a GP has authority to issue a Blue Badge to patients.

Should we not return to the old system where you had to attend a full medical at a clinic or visit another GP who was registered and was impartial?

In recent years both myself and other friends have noticed the increase in non-disabled cheats who are either using their wife's, husband's or friend's Blue Badge to visit and park in Brighton and Hove for the purpose of free parking.

We have seen these cheats in action twice in the last week when we parked in a side road off North Road.

On the first occasion we had just parked and my husband had made sure that my Blue Badge was properly displayed.

Another car parked in the bay in front of us and the driver, his wife and four children jumped out the car and went off towards North Road.

Moments later, he rushed back to display a blue badge. None of them appeared to be in anyway disabled.

In the same week, when we parked in Church Street, we saw a very able-bodied business man park his car in front of us.

He got out of his car and started to run up Church Street. Then he stopped and returned to his car to fetch his walking sticks.

This is just too much. We should return to the old system where you had to visit an independent doctor or, as in my case, two doctors and a nurse for a full medical and abandon the present system that is so obviously being abused.
