Haywards Heath face an anxious final fortnight of the National League season after a last-gasp defeat at Tabard.

Heath went down 18-17 in division three south, with Stuart Charnley seeing a long distance penalty attempt miss the target, while survival rivals Dings Crusaders beat Redruth.

Heath must beat rock-bottom Old Colfeians next week and might also need a result at Southend on April 17. Dings go to Old Patesians next week, then host North Walsham.

Damien Lyall and James Mackie scored tries with Hugh Griffin adding two conversions and a penalty.

Sprinter Gavin Stephens scored a try at the Linford Christie Stadium but Worthing still lost 38-12 at London Nigerian in London One.

They were 26-0 down at the break, replied with scores from Paul Cox and Stephens, the latter being well created by James Gardner and superbly converted by Jon Quirk, but then committed errors which let their hosts off the hook.

Hove, already virtually assured of the Sussex One crown due to their points difference, made sure with a 22-3 home win over Seaford. Matt Card and Yogev Sharp were among the scorers.

Hastings and Bexhill will qualify for the promotion play-off, likely to be at home to Old Elthamians, if they beat bottom club Rye in their last game. Scrum half Craig Burgess scored twice in a 29-0 win at Crowborough with Anthony Roche, Tom Brampton and David Northern crossing.

St Francis have won Sussex Two, their crowning moment being a 20-5 win at Sussex Police, while tries from Toby Harding, Seb Akillian, Dougie Edmonds, Hugo Baldwin, Matt Wilson and Sam Howes, who also kicked 14 points, helped runners-up Old Brightonians beat Newick 44-3.
