Rolls-Royce has opened its first outlet in Moscow at the most prestigious address in Russia - 1 Red Square.

The Red Square showroom will enable Muscovites to see the Rolls-Royce Phantom, the first car made by the company at its Goodwood plant in West Sussex.

The Phantom, which has a top speed of 149mph, is popular with the rich and famous.

R&B star Beyonc Knowles, Chelsea soccer boss Roman Abramovich and actress Jennifer Lopez are understood to own one.

Meanwhile, Fred Fruth, general manager of public affairs, is leaving Rolls-Royce Motor Cars after three years in the UK.

Mr Fruth, 57, played a vital role in establishing the Goodwood plant, which opened in 2001.

He helped build relationships with local and central government, the media and the Chichester community.

He returns to BMW Group headquarters in Munich to become VIP co-ordinator in the corporate affairs department.
