Albion were still waiting for confirmation that midfield duo Mark Yeates and Zesh Rehman will be staying.

Manager Mark McGhee is confident the pair will remain with the Seagulls for at least another month.

The loan spells of Yeates from Spurs and Rehman from Fulham expire after Friday night's match against Port Vale.

Dublin-born Yeates, 18, has been particularly impressive. Regarded in Ireland as the next Robbie Keane, he has helped Albion to successive League wins.

McGhee said: "He has a kind of Gaelic confidence. Robbie Keane had it and Mark is similar in that respect.

"His character is perfect really for the way he plays. It goes with the ability and flair."

Birmingham-born Rehman was originally signed on loan by McGhee's predecessor Steve Coppell.

The 20-year-old had to return to Fulham at the end of his first month because of an injury crisis.

Rehman's second month at Albion has been interrupted by illness.

He is expected to make his third start under McGhee against Port Vale.
