Will Champness is warning his Lewes side against complacency ahead of Sunday's HA Cup trip to Holcombe.
Club captain Champness knows Lewes are expected to progress to the last eight of domestic hockey's premier cup competition but admits Holcombe are capable of an upset.
He said: "They came up last year after romping their league but haven't done as well as they might have hoped. At their place, though, with a partisan crowd it will be interesting.
"If we play well we won't have a problem but they have a lot of ex-National League players in their side, including Simon Owen who used to play for us, so it won't be easy.
"If we play properly we should beat them. If we don't, they will beat us."
