The triumph of our rugby players in Australia has shown the difference between them and our English football players and fans.

When players cry during our national anthem it proves they are playing for their country, not the next luxury they can bestow upon themselves by virtue of their ridiculous wages.

Many footballers and cricketers do not even seem to know the words of our anthem and show no emotion. In our "national sport", players simply follow the most lucrative offer and show their club no loyalty.

How nice to see sportsmen without diamond studs in their ears or Alice bands in their hair.
