With reference to the letter from J James (November 19) regarding the Astoria building, I think I can shed some light on the subject.
Having the same concerns as your correspondent about the building, I called Stomp.
A spokeswoman informed me the building had been made weatherproof and safe and designers and architects were drawing up plans.
It does seem the scaffolding has been there for a long time but it is good to know that the project is progressing behind the scenes.
I look forward to visiting the venue when it is finished.
