Bognor breezed through to the third round with a routine win at County League Hassocks.

Jack Pearce rotated his squad but they were far too slick for the hosts, who turned in their usual hard working display but were never a match for their slick Ryman premier visitors.

Hassocks boss Dave John admitted as much but pointed out that he fielded two players short of match practice in Luke Flomo and Dave Smith, hinting that he was more concerned with the league at present.

Matt Russell followed up a Jodey Rowland shot to put Bognor on their way after ten minutes and then Rupert Sansom produced a sharp finish ten minutes later.

Lou Savage made it 3-0 on 66 minutes and then substitute Richard Hudson completed the scoring nine minutes later.

East Preston went through 4-0 away to Broadbridge Heath with goals from Matt Huckett (two), Michael Huckett and Lee Farrell.

Before the game East Preston completed the signing of Chris Hibberd from Worthing.

In the Sussex RUR Cup, Jamie Laidlaw hit the only goal as Chichester won 1-0 at Pagham and Dave Gellatly netted the winner as East Grinstead triumphed by the same scoreline at Redhill.

Three Bridges went through 7-6 on penalties at Horsham YMCA after Damian Webber had saved them from defeat with a 90th minute equaliser. Ramin Jarvand netted twice for YM.

In Matthew Clark County League division one, in-form Arundel crashed 4-3 at Sidlesham as Scott Tipper hit a last minute winner.

Arundel had led on three occasions but Sidlesham hit back each time with Glen Bridgeman, Tipper and Richard Davies.

In the Combined Counties League, Withdean suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Frimley Green. A Ryan Loversidge equaliser was not enough for the hosts.
