Eastbourne are aiming to end their Elite League season with back-to-back wins over Peterborough and Poole at Arlington Stadium.

Eagles, squeezed out of the play-off positions, entertain Peterborough on Monday night, with Poole arriving a week tomorrow, and Eastbourne boss Jon Cook insists: "We want to go out with a bang. This is our chance to show the fans what could have been."

Peterborough will be led by Ryan Sullivan, who became the first rider to win two Grand Prix events in 2003 when he battled through last week's controversial Scandinavian round to beat Scott Nicholls, Leigh Adams and Jason Crump in the final in Gothenburg.

Sullivan has already stung Eagles twice this season with a 16-point haul at Arlington and a 15-point maximum at Peterborough, where the Panthers roared to a 56-34 win.

That means Eastbourne are unlikely to get a sniff of the bonus point on Monday, but at this stage of the game they will be happy to finish on the winning side.

It won't be easy against a Peterborough side which also includes Piotr Protasiewicz, who won the recent Grand Prix 2004 qualifier, former Eagles captain Gary Havelock and improving Kenneth Bjerre.

And the battles between Sullivan and Nicki Pedersen, who goes into tomorrow night's Czech Grand Prix in Prague level at the top of the world championship leader board with Adams, promise to be something special.

Eastbourne: Mark Loram, David Norris, Dean Barker, Adam Shields, Nicki Pedersen, Glenn Cunningham, Joonas Kylmakorpi.

Peterborough: Ryan Sullivan, Gary Havelock, Piotr Protasiewicz, Kenneth Bjerre, Hans Andersen, Shane Parker, Nigel Sadler.

The match on Monday starts at 7.30.
