Ryman Premier: Jack Pearce saw his Bognor side maintain their flying start, then warned: "We've still got a hell of a lot of work to do."

Rocks beat Harrow Borough 3-1 at Nyewood Lane to move back to within three points of league leaders Carlshalton.

They only really sparkled in fits and starts but were generally solid at the back and had a bit of invention going forward when required.

Boss Pearce said: "I'm pleased with the result but we are playing at 60 per cent and we've got three tough games coming up in the next 11 days.

"We've still got two or three people off the pace but we are showing potential."

Not least with the goal which put them on course after 17 minutes last night.

Dan Beck, who has created a good impression during his loan spell from Albion, struck a crisp right foot finish from Matt Russell's back heel after a slowing move started by Jodey Rowland and continued down the right by Dave Piper and Richard Hudson.

Michael Birmingham made it 2-0 from a free kick on 59 minutes. He aimed his right foot curler six inches wide and watched it do just enough to come back inside the far post.

Russell then bagged his first of the season 17 minutes from time, albeit at the second attempt following Jamie Howell's precise pass, and Abdul Yoki's reply four minutes later was no more than a consolation for Harrow.
