Dr Martens Premier: Crawley boss Francis Vines believes his side can beat any team in non-league football ahead of the big Sussex derby at Eastbourne Borough tonight.

Vines returned from a two-week holiday to take charge for the first time this season in a 4-0 home win over title contenders Worcester City on Saturday.

Albion loan signings Carl Wilson-Denis (hat-trick) and Daniel Marney scored all the goals to give Crawley their second consecutive win of the campaign.

Vines will name an unchanged side for the clash at Priory Lane in the hope it will produce the same kind of performance.

He said: "If we play like we did against Worcester, we could beat any team in our league or the Conference. We did very well and hopefully we will be able to play like that in every game.

"The problem is I can't put my finger on why we did so well in that game and not in previous ones. We clicked as a team and I will be looking for them to do that again."

Vines is not underestimating a Borough side who are looking to avenge last season's Sussex Senior Cup defeat.

Reds had Ernie Cooksey, now at Oldham, sent off after just 25 minutes, but still went on to win 6-5 on penalties after the game finished goalless.

Vines said: "They were a good team when we played them in the cup final, but we played with ten men for most of it so we gave them every chance of beating us.

"We know they will make it difficult, but we expect that and we will be as confident against them as we would be against any team."

Gaining points rather than revenge is Borough manager Garry Wilson's main concern while he has injury worries hanging over two of his key players.

Late decisions are set to be made on both last season's leading scorer Scott Ramsay and the versatile Ben Austin.

Ramsay and Austin missed Saturday's 4-0 reverse at premier division title favourites Nuneaton Borough due to hamstring and back injuries respectively and Wilson is hoping they will be fit for the derby clash.

Wilson said: "It is not about revenge.

"Crawley now have a different side to what we played in the Senior Cup final.

"I doubt if half the players out there tonight will be the same as we played last time. They have spent quite a bit on players over the summer.

"The cup is in the past and all we want is to get more points on the board.

"We have marked down home games as important to get points this season and it does not matter whether it is Crawley or any other league side, we will want to win.

"Home games are ones we want to win and we shall be positive.

"It has all the makings of a great game."

He added: "People have spoken about this game and we have heard comments from other clubs such as, 'Crawley should beat Borough easily' and people have put us down a little bit.

"It won't be easy for Crawley. I am just hoping that we will be at full strength for the game as we have struggled at times when we are not."
