The Blues Brothers ride again, outdoor fireworks close a summer of festivities, Romeo and Juliet go alfresco and a show is held inside a big pig. Really.

SWEET HOME CHICAGO, Pavilion Theatre, Worthing, August 22: Renowned soul singers Pete Tobit and Ed Stacey aim to recapture the lunacy and music of The Blues Brothers as they perform more than 45 of their classic songs, including Everybody, Midnight Hour and Gimme Some Lovin'. The high-energy night of entertainment encourages the audience to put on pork pie hats and shades and get those feet stamping. Starts 7.45pm, tickets £11.50 to £12.50, call 01903 206206.

S.W.A.L.K, De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, August 24: This show is part of the bank holiday final for the summer-long Jour de Fete. A gigantic outdoor pyrotechnic cinetheatre will stage this striking outdoor production. The show features live performances, film and flame. ROMEO AND JULIET, Newhaven Fort, Newhaven, August 26-27: Oddsocks Productions return to Newhaven Fort with their latest open-air theatre show, a madcap, family-friendly version of Shakespeare's famous play. Passion, power, love and murder are all thrown into the cauldron in this tale of two feuding Italian families changed forever by two troublesome teenagers who fall in love.

Starts 7.30pm, tickets cost £8.50/£5. Call 01273 517622 for ticket details and further information.

PIG, De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, August 23-24: An innovative yet short show performed as part of the Jour de Fete final, which takes place inside a surprisingly long pig. At first the 30ft animal sleeps on her side with nose twitches and audible snores, then every 15 minutes a farmhand offers ten people the chance to act like squealers and witness something strange going on inside the swine's belly. From 1pm to 3pm and 4.30pm to 6.30pm, free, call 01424 787949.
