Eastbourne Borough recorded their first win in the Dr Martens League premier division with an impressive 2-1 success at Welling United.

A stunning free kick from Matt Crabb and a late strike from Scott Ramsay gave Borough a deserved win.

The visitors started off like a freight train and in the first 12 minutes should have been 2-0 up.

First Ramsay hit the bar on five minutes before home keeper Glen Knight made a superb double save from Danny Simmonds and Matt Smart.

The home side gained confidence from this and forced Lee Hook into a couple of good first half saves.

Borough were just as positive after the break and they took the lead on 52 minutes.

Ramsay was fouled on the edge of the area and Crabb curled the ball into the top corner.

Borough sealed victory two minutes into injury time when Ramsay blasted home from 20 yards.

Dave Powell pulled one back seconds later for the home side to give Borough a scare but it was too little too late for Welling.

First half goals by Ian Payne and Carl Wilson-Denis earned Crawley Town a deserved 2-2 draw at Dover.

Payne gave Town the lead after nine minutes with a 20-yard shot which slipped through the fingers of goal keeper Paul Hyde.

Dover equalised three minutes later with a low header by Andy Arnott after an initial shot was blocked.

Reds' assistant manager Vic Bettinelli was banished from the dugout after 15 minutes for foul and abusive language towards a linesman.

Town regained the lead in the 41st minute through Wilson-Denis, who is on a month's loan from Albion.

The 20-year-old received a good ball from Payne down the left flank and scored with a well-taken finish.

However in a high tempo game Dover drew level again with a setpiece header by Dean Readings from a 62nd minute corner.

Crawley fans thought they should have been awarded an 89th minute penalty when Charlie MacDonald was brought down in the area but the referee decided otherwise.

Payne rounded off a great performance by clearing a 90th mintue shot from his own goalline.

Crawley will now seek their first win of the season away to Bath City on Saturday.

Duncan McArthur was sent off as Hastings United slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Folkeston Invicta in the eastern division of the Dr Martens League.

The Hastings midfielder, whose football career has been plagued by a poor disciplinary record, was shown a straight red card in the 69th minute for an elbow on home captain Scott Lindsey.

The referee failed to spot the incident but after consulting with his linesman he gave McArthur his marching orders.

Folkestone wasted no time in making the extra man count as within a minute Allan Tait had drilled home his second goal of the night.

Tait had opened the scoring on 25 minutes with a precise finish under onrushing keeper Matt Brown.

The visitors struggled to pose much of a threat and the closest they came to scoring was efforts from Mitchell Sherwood and Peter Taylor, both of which were well saved by former Hastings keeper Tony Kessell.
