Cyril and Anne Peskett have managed to capture the well-loved Tommy Cooper as the public knew him best, fez on head and wand in hand.

The image on the front of the couple's house has stopped passers-by in their tracks and, in the absence of a blue plaque, has provided a much needed landmark for the madcap entertainer.

Cooper produced some classic one liners, delivered in his own inimitable style and appeared to have had a happy homelife of his own if one of his classic gags is anything to go by: "I was cleaning out the attic the other day with the wife. Filthy, dirty and covered with cobwebs . . . but she's good with the kids."
