Mark Loram will not make his Eastbourne Eagles comeback for at least a further three weeks and is setting his sights on the trip to Poole on July 16.

The Eastbourne ace has given up any hope of riding in tomorrow night's Danish Grand Prix and has virtually ruled himself out of the British Championship final at Arlington next week.

On Copenhagen, he said: "That isn't going to happen. But I'll be back for Eastbourne's next league match. I know that's quite a way off but I hope to do a couple of matches abroad before that."

It will mean Loram will have been out of action for three months after suffering a double fracture of his left arm in a crash at Arlington on Good Friday, since when Eagles have won only four times in 12 matches.

"I won't be doing anything until after I see the surgeon again on July 4, and if he gives me the all-clear to ride I'll probably fly out the next day and get in some practice before riding in Poland and Sweden."

Loram is one of four Eastbourne riders named in the line-up for the British final along with skipper Joe Screen, Dean Barker and David Norris, but he is unlikely to ride.

"I don't think I'll be doing that one because I won't have raced or practised before then."

Another of the favourites, Lee Richardson, sustained a broken collarbone in last weekend's world championship meeting in Poland.

Eastbourne will stage a Great Britain v Rest of the World match on July 14.
