Fireco, the Brighton-based fire safety equipment manufacturer, has bought all the shares in one of its competitors.
The company, which makes the acoustically-activated fire-door release device, Dorgard, has purchased the shares in The Network Group (TNG), which manufactures Sureclose, a wireless fire-door retainer.
The two companies had been negotiating for several months since Fireco thought that TNG was breaking the Dorgard patent with Sureclose.
TNG's premises in Sevenoaks, Kent, might be used to make a new range of Dorgards.
