It amazes me that no one at Brighton and Hove City Council seems to be listening to the plight of the ordinary people anymore.

I have written numerous letters to The Argus but which seem to fall on deaf ears as far as the council is concerned.

When is it going to do something to help the poor, long suffering workers of Hove?

I know I keep bleating on about the parking situation at the end of Hove but nothing is being done to help it.

Blinded by revenue from its parking policy, the council is ignoring the fact many workers in Hove are going to find it increasingly difficult financially.

The business owners are fine - they are allowed a business permit to park - but what about the rest of us who don't earn huge salaries and can't charge it to the business?

We are expected to fork out more than £500 a year for the privilege of going to work.

This is putting an ever increasing financial burden on those who can least afford it and it will eventually drive people out of the area.

Would it not be fairer if the council allowed us to buy a permit for the hours of the working day? I suggest more than a residents' permit but much less than pay and display.

Or is this too difficult a concept for them to get their heads around?
