Campaigners are to meet MPs to demand fair trade.

Worthing World Development Movement Group (WWDGM) will gather at the Guildbourne Centre, Worthing, to urge Peter Bottomley (West Worthing) and Tim Loughton (East Worthing and Shoreham) to help make international trade fairer for poor people and the environment.

The meeting is part of a major event aimed at simultaneously lobbying members of parliament across Britain.

Dereck Prentis, of WWDGM, said: "Trade rules have the potential to reduce poverty and protect the environment but at the moment it is not happening.

"We must make trade work for the poor not just the rich.

"We will be urging our MPs to use their influence to make sure the UK Government takes a lead in rewriting unfair world trade rules at the important World Trade Organisation ministerial meeting in Mexico in September."

The meeting at the Guildbourne Centre will take place on Saturday at 9.30am.
