East Sussex League: St Peters took over top spot in division two after beating previous leaders Iden by 89 runs.

Saints posted 239-6 thanks to 77 from 74 balls by skipper Matthew Knight who shared in stands of 51 for the third wicket with Richard Dale (26) and 81 for the fourth with Giles Ward (34). Brian Scholtz added 26 not out off 19 balls at the end.

In reply, Iden never recovered from the first ball dismissal of Michael White.

David White found little support before falling for 59, superbly caught by Dale off Knight (3-24), leaving 13-year-old Alex Coomber to finish the tail with 3-9 as Iden were dismissed for 150.

Third-placed Ditchling were left frustrated after being held to a draw at Wadhurst.

The visitors made 245-8 declared with Jim Nolan taking full advantage of perfect batting conditions to score 101 while his brother Mike Nolan added 51 not out.

In reply, Alan Notley hit 46 but Wadhurst were in trouble at 33-5 and 86-8 as Alistair Evans (6-51) ripped into them.

However, Terry Jeffery (53 not out) dug in deep, adding 49 for the ninth wicket with Jim Harwood and 44 for the tenth with Toby Cornes to finish on 179-9.

Barcombe made 245-3 at home to Lewes St Michael's with Keith Savage (109 not out) and Matt Lloyd (85) leading the way.

James Fellows hit 68 in reply and Andy Whiting 47 but St Michael's were dismissed for 195 with Keith Hunter (4-24) doing the damage.

Mark Grantham starred with bat and ball as Rottingdean won by seven wickets at Battle. Grantham took 6-38 as Battle were bowled out for 91 and he then hit 40 in a comfortable run chase. Mark Smith added 35 not out.

Uckfield Anderida and Hellingly shared a draw. Uckfield recovered from 30-4 to make 225-8 with Mark Cullingford scoring 84 and Nick Ridley 69.

Hellingly made 174-2 in reply with knocks from James Wise (43), Bob Pye (39 not out) and Paul Wheatley (39).
