A recent correspondent (Letters, June 10) asked for feedback from West Hove residents offered the Brighton and Hove City Council-run, multi-recycling doorstep collection.
In a word - marvellous. No lugging heavy bags of bottles and newspapers to the collection point in Portland Road.
The icing on the cake is a summer-only service starting this week. The council will collect garden waste in excess of what can be used for compost and has supplied two strong bags for every household.
The council is frequently criticised, with good reason, but for this initiative it deserves ten out of ten.
