Recently, at the request of the Secretary of State's Inspector, a crane was located on the site of the proposed football stadium at Falmer.
It was hoisted to the true height of the stadium to give interested parties a realistic visual idea of how prominent the building will be within the vicinity of Falmer.
Let there be no doubt. The stadium will totally dominate the area and be seen for miles around.
One can imagine vice-chancellors sitting in their ivory towers composing a future prospectus for their university that reads "surrounded by the South Downs National Park, overshadowed by a football stadium".
-John Burt, Falmer
