Crawley striker Nic McDonnell has left the club to join Ryman Premier Division side St Albans.
The 22-year-old was allowed to leave as a free agent due to a technicality which meant Reds were forced to forfeit the right to a compensation fee under FA rules.
McDonnell turned down an offer to stay at the Broadfield Stadium despite finishing as top scorer last season with 22 goals from 42 starts.
He joined Reds from Croydon on a one-year deal last summer and helped Crawley to their best ever season when they won both the Dr Martens Cup and Sussex Senior Cup.
Defenders Ellis Hooper and Ben Judge have both agreed new one-year deals and former Albion trainees Steve Causon, Glen Matten and Scott Kirkwood have all been offered terms for next season.
