Lamborghinis, kit cars and a Model T Ford were among the vehicles which joined a classic vehicle rally on Brighton seafront.
Hundreds of enthusiasts gathered on Madeira Drive yesterday to welcome scores of entrants to the Footman James London to Brighton Classic Car Run.
The pristine bodywork of the treasured vehicles gleamed in the sun as the finishers arrived at lunchtime.
Peter Day, 48, drove his 1934 Singer Le Mans down from his home in Brentford with his wife and son.
Mr Day said: "We have had the car a year and this is the first big run we've given it.
"It was a bit vague on the steering but it was good fun. There were loads of people waving and it was great when we got into Brighton."
Barrie Jackson, 55, from Horsham drove his distinctive purple Sebring MX, which he built with his son from a kit.
He said: "We haven't driven it much for a year or so, so it was nice to have a good day for it."
Peter Barr, from Southwick, drove his 1971 Triumph 2000 to London for the start and was one of the first finishers back in Brighton, alongside fellow members of the Sussex Triumph Club.
He said: "I have only had this nine months. Before that it had been kept in a garage since 1981 but the run down here was no trouble at all."
