I wonder if one has to be a complete idiot to obtain employment in the highways department.

The long suffering motorist only recently had to endure weeks of inconvenience and delay while the road surface was repaired between the Palace Pier and the Grand hotel in Brighton.

Now, only a short time later, we have lane closures while the same section of road is excavated again.

When one considers other departments of Brighton and Hove City Council do little to remove beggars from the streets, pour raw sewage into the sea and still wish to restore that monstrosity laughingly termed the West Pier, it is clear a lack of basic intelligence is a pre-requisite for the decision makers in what is, after all, a rather seedy town masquerading as a city.
