More people are looking for a new job than a year ago, new research showed today.

One in six workers, 16 per cent, are jobseeking, a two per cent increase on 12 months ago, according to recruitment firm Reed.

Younger workers are most likely to be on the lookout for a new job, with one in four people under the age of 25 actively job hunting, compared with just six per cent of over 55-year-olds.

The most restless workers are in the North, followed by the North-West, while workers in Wales and Scotland are least likely to be checking on the jobs market.
