I know it has been said many times before but what is happening to the Post Office?
Only days after it was announced it is in hot water again with the times taken for deliveries, it has embarrassed itself locally with the fuss at the art gallery in Bond Street, Brighton.
I have noticed, as has my brother-in-law who works as a postman in Worthing, the majority of people delivering our mail, although very pleasant, have no uniforms - not a very good example of our once unrivalled Post Office.
My brother-in-law told me of a case in Bognor Regis where a young girl, employed originally as a casual worker, was offered full-time employment.
This brought her to the attention of the authorities, who arrested and deported her because she was an illegal immigrant using false papers.
It was once a proud job which had strict checks and tests on applicants. All the old faces have disappeared, no doubt to bring in cheaper labour, but it doesn't work like that.
So come on Post Office, get the standards back up to what's expected - the public deserve better.
