Zoe Ball believes her future's looking brighter. She is back with husband Norman Cook and her radio career allows her plenty of time with their son Woody, two.

She said: "Things are cool and so much better now. It's not been easy these last six months. But we're just taking one step at a time - who knows what's going to happen?

"In saying that, the future is looking a lot rosier. I'm much happier now."

Her marriage fell apart in December last year after it was revealed she had an affair with DJ Dan Peppe.

Over the next few months, the Press besieged her and Norman as they battled to save their three-year-old marriage.

It was reported Zoe was living in London during the week - to do her radio show on Xfm - and going back to Hove at weekends to look after Woody. But Zoe, 32, says this was never the case.

She said: "Everyone thinks I live in London during the week but I don't. I commute from Brighton every day. People just assume that because of what has happened between Norman and I. Commuting isn't a big deal as lots of people do it.

"I'm there every day for Woody. I'm there in the mornings to get his breakfast and take him to playgroup. In the evenings, he is already asleep when I get back but that's what lots of families have to go through.

"When there are school holidays I get to see him all morning and some of the afternoon. It's working well at the moment."

The former Radio 1 star has managed to balance the roles of being a mother and a celebrity. Much to Zoe's delight, Woody thinks she is Britney Spears.

She said: "I don't find combining the roles of mum and radio DJ that difficult. Norman and I aren't on our own - we get lots of help. We've got a lovely nanny who is working for us.

"Woody has just got to the stage where he recognises me on the radio but he is a bit confused.

"He thinks I'm Britney Spears. He recognises the name Fatboy Slim but he thinks mum is Britney. So, that's cool with me!"

Since she started her stint at Xfm, Zoe has turned her back on TV and has no plans to return.

She said: "I'm really enjoying my radio show - it's very, very good. It's been like a therapy to me after everything. I'm loving it at the moment.

"I'm going to stay in radio as the last few things I've been offered on TV haven't really been my cup of tea.

"Most things I've seen on screen don't need someone like me. I don't want to try anything out unless I am 100 per cent sure."

She added: "That is why I want to stay at Xfm. I like the music and the people who work there. I enjoy going into work and that's important."
