Johnny Douglas, who composed music for The Railway Children and TV shows including The Incredible Hulk, has died at his Sussex home.
The 82-year-old died on Sunday at his home in Bognor after suffering from prostate cancer for over seven years, according to his daughter Norma Camby.
In his 63-year career as musician and composer, Mr Douglas made 100 albums and music for 36 films, winning a British Academy Film & TV Arts nomination for The Railway Children.
In 1955, he began a successful broadcasting career with the BBC, hosting his own show.
He later regularly contributed to programmes such as The Terry Wogan Show and Charlie Chester's Sunday Soapbox.
From 1960, he began scoring for films and arranged music for stars including Howard Keel, Vera Lynn and Shirley Bassey.
He also composed the music for children's TV shows such as Spiderman And His Amazing Friends, Dungeons & Dragons, The Incredible Hulk, The Transformers and GI Joe.
