As ideas for development at Brighton Marina appear (The Argus, April 14) my mind is still on the King Alfred Centre.

The consequences of building high are more than visual and aesthetic. Huge winds rush around high buildings, creating dangerous wind tunnels.

Here in Clarendon Road, the merely ten storey-high blocks of flats have high winds about them despite the mitigating presence of other buildings to break them up.

Winds straight off the sea and on to skyscrapers at the King Alfred would endanger walkers, cyclists and car drivers alike. These are important consequences and have not been discussed. Why?
