A suspected gunman danced half-naked around his living room as police staged a three-hour siege.
Armed officers sealed off Buci Crescent, Shoreham, following reports the offender had threatened a man in a nearby flat with a pistol.
Police said the suspect called at Osborne Court in Wilmott Road at 9.15pm yesterday and demanded to see the occupant's wife.
The man then threatened him with what was later found to be an imitation firearm.
Negotiators spent three hours trying to persuade him to give himself up. He agreed to come out of the house after midnight.
Sergeant Ian Cooke, of Shoreham police, said: "He was arrested. We think he has mental health issues."
