Hat-trick man Dave Davis scored after just 55 seconds as Worthing emerged as favourites for the London Two South play-off spot.
Gosport and Fareham remain well placed to take the title and they still have to play at home to Tunbridge Wells, whose defeat at Andover on Saturday boosted Worthing's chances of finishing second.
Worthing go to Andover in their next match.
Davis rounded off six phases of possession straight from kick-off in the 33-20 success at Wimbledon.
Coach Ian Davies was pleased with some of his side's work.
He said: "We had a good 15 minutes in each half but we also made some silly mistakes.
"It was 13-13 at half-time when it could have easily been 20-0 to us."
A stern team talk at the break did the trick with Steve Imrie carving through for a score, Jody Levett being driven over at a lineout and Davis adding two more tries.
Ben Coulson kicked a conversion and two penalties.
