I agree with D B Goodchild (Letters, February 14) that the cycle ban on the undercliff path is widely ignored but dispute that "walkers are placed in constant danger".

The path is more than wide enough for walkers and cyclists to happily co-exist. Rather than a clifftop cycleway no one will use, Brighton and Hove City Council should make it legal for cyclists to use the undercliff and spend the £250,000 improving the city's bizarre system of cycle lanes.
