I was interested to read (The Argus, January 17) that the watchdog Postwatch is to discuss the closures of post offices in Havelock Road, Bates Road and Ditchling Road with other matters on February 12.
A letter to customers in the post offices concerned, from Drew McBride of the Post Office Consultation Team at St Albans, says all comments have to be in by Monday and goes on to say a decision to close the post offices will be made shortly after then.
It seems to me the Postwatch meeting is like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted. I would urge all customers of the post offices concerned to write to Mr McBride and David Lepper, the MP for the area, as soon as possible.
