Bognor remained in title contention with an impressive 20-8 home win over Folkestone in London Four South East.

Gareth Williams, Joe Grenslade and Andy Shipp scored tries with Shipp adding a conversion and a penalty.

They then went to Lewes in the Trophy and grabbed an 18-16 win.

Shipp fired the winning points with a late penalty with Neil Rumble then seeing a chance to send Lewes through drift wide of the posts.

Early tries from skipper Karl Flynn and Tom Spurle, who added a conversion, saw Bognor roar into a 12-0 lead but further pressure went unrewarded and Rumble kicked two Lewes penalties by the break.

Shipp slotted Bognor into a 15-6 lead but an opportunist Ben Wood finish and a pushover try edged Lewes one point clear going into the final stages.

Flynn said: "Lewes could have won it but they did not deserve to be in that position. Our lads were outstanding and I'm very proud of them."
