DJ Fatboy Slim was being comforted by his friends last night after revealing the real reason behind the collapse of his marriage to Zoe Ball.

The DJ, real name Norman Cook, first suspected his wife was cheating when she walked out on him more than a month ago.

Zoe, 32, finally admitted she had been seeing DJ Dan Peppe in a phone call to her husband last week.

A devastated Norman was being looked after by DJs Sara Cox and Jon Carter at his home in Hove.

Both Zoe and Norman had said they wanted to save their relationship.

Last night, Norman, 39, was still holding out hope the marriage could be salvaged. He said: "Zoe is a wonderful woman. I don't think any less of her. Everyone makes stupid mistakes."

Norman, father of two-year-old Woody, said: "I still love her. I still want her to come back as long as she promises she won't see him again and won't do this again."

Zoe, who is staying in London, insisted she and Dan Peppe were just good friends.

She was today beginning a two-week break from her radio show on London station 104.9 XFM.

Last night, Mr Peppe's mother Theresa, from Eastbourne, kept tight-lipped about her son's alleged involvement.

Dan, a DJ with dance band Themroc, went to St Bede's School, Eastbourne, and is believed to have met Zoe through Jon Carter.
