The Argus has recently (January 16) highlighted Labour's decision to sell off some of Brighton and Hove's properties.

More recently, however, I have learned the Government has given the go-ahead for local councils to sell off their assets to raise funds to plug the holes in their staff pension schemes created by the falling stock market of the past three years.

Could we have an assurance from Councillor Ken Bodfish our properties are not being flogged off for this purpose?

These buildings are owned by all of us taxpayers and are not there to benefit the privileged few.
