Worthing gave a good account of themselves for nearly an hour at Kingstonian before the Ryman premier division side wore them down to win 3-0 in the Bryco Cup third round.

Rebels, who had won six of their previous nine games, welcomed back striker Mark Knee following a facial injury while Andy Alexander replaced the injured Tom Graves in central defence.

Kingstonian are unbeaten in three games under new boss Kim Harris and they were matched by plucky Worthing until the 49th minute when Tim Sills headed in a cross from the left by Neil Lampton.

Matt Flitter doubled the lead with his first goal for Kingstonian, heading in a corner by Phil Wingfield, and substitute Craig Rocastle rounded things off with the third in the last minute.

Rocastle, nephew of former Arsenal midfielder David Rocastle, ended a flowing move on the break to hit his first for the club as Rebels suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time since mid-October.

It was a tough test for Barry Lloyd's side and Kingstonian should have gone ahead after only two minutes when Liam Collins headed a Wingfield cross wastefully wide.

Ben Carrington caught the eye for Rebels with good approach play.

The only County League game to go ahead last night saw Sidlesham win 1-0 at home to Selsey in division one.

Scott Tipper got the only goal on 20 minutes, finishing well after latching on to Jimmy Brown's reverse pass.

Richard Davies twice hit a post for Sidlesham in the second half.

Boss Richard Towers said: "My players gritted their teeth, worked really hard and I thought they deserved the result in the end."

The match between Hassocks and Arundel was postponed, as was the John O'Hara League Cup clash between Steyning Town and Pagham.
