British Transport Police officers were today investigating an incident in which an elderly man was injured near a railway track.
It was initially thought he had been hit by a train but officers found he had been walking near the line at Moulsecoomb, Brighton, last night when he slipped and cut his leg.
The incident happened at about 8.40pm and train services through Moulsecoomb were delayed while officers investigated the incident.
The man was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and later discharged.
